The Solar Activated Facade (SAF) distributed in North America by Nelson Architech GmbH, Switzerland, has gained the recognition of Popular Science. SAF is an innovative high performance insulation cladding system that has been developed in Switzerland and is now being marketed and sold in North America. It combines high performance with sustainability and design.

Eric Nelson received his Master of Science (2001) in Marine Geology at the University of South Florida after which he worked for the U.S. Geological Survey for another two years,when he decided to return to the University of South Florida in order to get his Master of Architecture (2006). After briefly working in the U.S. he realized that the U.S. was not ready yet to apply sustainable building practices, so he returned to Switzerland, where he was born and raised, to work for a couple of progressive architectural firms on the forefront of the sustainable building movement, one of which...
